  Actually, I found the JW's biggest weakness is the hobby or activity he/she truly loves more than the religion. It could be football, dancing, music, painting, etc.

  So these people have hobbies and are human after all.

  there seems to be almost an equal number of men and women who profess to be of the 144000 destined fro heaven.

  does the wt society really believe that, if so why don't they ever depict women in heaven.

  its always men with beards which are an outward sign of rebellion on earth.

  I discovered something else shocking. I believe Revelation talks about how the 144,000 will be virgins. I brought that up, but the people I study with said that can't be right because they have married people who are part of the 144,000 class.

  So they basically said the Bible is full of beans and these people have to be of the 144,000. Why? Because they said so and that's good enough.

  Some people say that JWs are very good at what they do. They are highly trained in their doctrine. One website said that they would blow the average Christian away in an arguement. However, I found a serious weakness in their rhetoric. Actually, it's more in the way they present their information.

  Visiting a video game message board, I noticed a topic that asks Christians why they believe in God. One guy said he was a JW and proceeded to give them the usual run-down. He kept at it for awhile, but eventually wore out and apparently quit. I noticed a trend in his arguements. All he did was quote from the Bible pretty much.

  Why is that a weakness? It's simple. Look at the way Jesus taught. Did he just incessantly spit scriptures at people? No, he used parables, or metaphors putting ideas into layman's terms. Yes, Jesus used worldly knowledge to help teach people ideas. Ironically, the Elitists in Brooklyn WTS always tell JWs not to pursue higher education because that would detract from time spent preaching. But there is their greatest weakness: How can you teach people when you can't even converse on their level? We live in a highly educated society, and if your skills are limited to keeping your nose in the Bible to look up a random scripture that may or may not loosely cover the question asks, then you're in a heap of trouble.

  No wonder dubs have a hard time converting people. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a way to exploit this weakness for those of you who have friends and family left in the borg truth. What do you think?

  Darnit, something screwed up in the previous post.

  Anyway, about that quotation about Jesus needing help. Why would Jesus need help? I thought he was supposed to be perfect. I now see what other religions mean when they say the JWs don't believe in Jesus. Using this logic, Jesus is just as helpless as we are, and would probably need the Aryan JW race WTS to help him translate the Bible. Bah!

  Second, about not talking about "wordly" topics. One girl at the study asked if she could never talk about movies. Fortunately, the adults said it was okay as long as the movie is clean and such discussion doesn't dominate. I chipped in and said there needs to be a balance, and that one would go nuts if he or she talked about nothing but serious matters. Face it, we all need to let off steam and have fun once in awhile.

  I think bringing forth the true fruits is a good project, Blondie. As an English major, I'd like to undertake the challenge myself sometime.

  Anyway, I did study the same article Wednesday with some JW friends. Yeah, I still associate with them, but only because I think they are good people. I don't have the heart to tell them I think a lot of their stuff is elitist garbage.

  Anywho, a couple of things...

  What irks me is the completely talentless generally female teenage clones, wailing and writhing like seagulls, that assualt your eardrums absolutely everywhere. They look the same, sound the same and are the same as each other.

  Yeah, I agree. However, at least some of the female artists, like Avril Lavigne, have songs with a more alternative/techno/poppy taste, instead of this boring ass easy listening shit John Mayer sings.

  This bro gets up there talking about 'education that pleases Jah' or something. So full of himself. He gets on the subject of math, and asks the rhetorical question "how much math should a Christian take?" His answer - "The basics are all you need."

  For most people, maybe, but we still need engineers and architechs. Last time I checked, they need a helluva lot more than just the basics.

  It's amazing how the witnesses are so ready to trash things, yet we need certain people and functions to operate as a society. If everyone had the exact same talents, then we would be screwed.
